New Music - Let it Flow
I shared the raw, newbie first version of Let if Flow in my email a couple of months ago. Here’s the studio version, all dressed up and ready to go out on the town.
Let it Flow is all about the constant movement of life. It never stays the same, always changing from one moment to the next.
I wanted this song to have a cadence that kept it moving, like the circle of life, like water flowing.
“Every moment is a movement for life and breath to flow right through.”
One thing that makes me smile about this recording is hearing our friend Ronnie Frugé play some guitar. He played on a couple of songs for the album Perfect Strangers. He also recorded and mixed the song We’re All in This Together in his Lake Charles, Louisiana studio. He’s a Cajun through and through — one of the kindest, gentlest human beings I know and an incredible singer/songwriter and guitar player extraordinaire. Check out his music here. I have a lot of favorites, but when I hear his song Lorrain Bridge, I can not stay in my seat, it’s impossible. I absolutely must dance.
Since 2019, I have been working with the very talented sound engineer and musician Steve Wells in Nashville, TN. He takes my tracks, and adds drums, bass, piano, etc. He sends them back to me and we volley back and forth with vocals and Mickey’s guitar tracks. Then he mixes and masters the final track. His lovely wife, who has sung with many great artists, including Faith Hill, sings backup vocals along with Steve. It’s because of him, that I’ve been able to release a steady stream of singles. Every time I get a little money in my pocket, I send him a new song and he does his magic — for a price I can afford.
And Mickey, as you know, we’re partners in love, life, and music. He keeps me playing and singing on stage in front of real people, so I don’t forget that it’s really all about sharing -- the love and the music.
What a wonderful world we live in, one where we can collaborate, communicate, build, and tend relationships — whether we’re on stage or hundreds of miles away.
The song Let it Flow will be released to all digital channels on April 8, 2022, That’s my mom’s 87th birthday. She’s taught me a lot about life and how to let it flow. ❤️
